![]() It's repetitive because it's the same song and dance that Jaune already did. Similar to Jaune, they both are dedicated and determined to better themselves for the sake of others, so that they don’t feel like a weak link. From one fight to the next against some of the strongest Grimm and people in the show. The only thing keeping him relatively with the others is Ozpin’s long-coded muscle memory and the fact that he’s been going basically nonstop since he was introduced into the show. Unlike Jaune, Oscar’s had his Aura unlocked for far less time and has had far less training with it. Though that is a legitimate problem at this stage. Outside of Volume 5, when Oscar is being taught the ins and outs of Huntsman, Aura, and Semblances, when does he mope about not having a Semblance? When does anybody even bring it up when talking to him? Because to my knowledge, nothing from Oscar nor anybody else have talked or even mentioned that he doesn’t have one outside of that one scene in Volume 5.Įdit: I think I’m recalling one scene between him and Ironwood in Volume 7? Ironwood basically saying how he doesn’t have it yet and that’s a problem. I would absolutely love some meaningful conflict as well. So yeah, I would love some decent interactions between two characters that are invested into each other. I don't want Klein mansplaining Ruby's feelings to her, I want discourse with Weiss! Her best friend, not a strange man she doesn't know! I couldn't care less about stuff like Oscar inquiring about her semblance, what the heck does he know? I want to know her partner thinks, and what Ruby thinks about Weiss' summoning. Her best moment was with RWB on the landing pad.Įverything else was filler. And no great moments with an antagonist or someone else of note. her family? Which honestly wasn't satisfying. Like, Ruby had what? A cute moment with Blake, and a couple of decent moments with Yang? Ironwood in his office was alright, and a few (finally) good intimate moments with Penny. And interactions with others didn't even come close in filling that gap. Shipping aside, their lack of interactions was so noticeable over V7-8. I feel like Ruby and Weiss are going through too much separately to solve/comfort one anothers problems. I think Jaune would be better to help Ruby with her incoming depressive episode since he understands loss/grief/frustration because of Pyrrha's death, a similar death caused by Cinder. ~ Ruby + Blake is a stretch but we did see them get a little closer last volume Ruby + Jaune/Weiss (retelling Penny's death) I think bigger Ruby interactions would most likely be There's a decent handful of duos that should have moments of highlighted interaction but your post already seems biased regardig Weiss/Ruby. I'm just bringing up a possible reason as to why we've seen them interact less through the past volumes as they've come to see each other as family/sisters so it's not like they need a talking scene every volume to establish/ensure their connection. You're right, it has nothing to do with shipping. Hide Spoilers Blur Spoilers Show Spoilers Try /r/fnki, the /r/RWBY meme sub, instead.
